Blogging and modeling? Yes. You can combine it. I did it today. The lookbook of Tata Christiane's new fall/winter collection was shot by Valquire Veljkovic. All those amazing prints were created by Hnr Gbrl. I hope you enjoy my little photographic backstage sneak peek.

FW-OUTFITS

Auch wenn die Mehrheit der von mir geschossenen Fotos an Rufmord grenzt und sich mir der Magen umdrehte, als ich eine schiere Ausgeburt an Gesichtsentgleisungen und falschen Persektiven (Kopf größer als die Beine etc.) mit meinen Outfits über Lesmads & Co verteilt vorfand, habe ich hier vier äußerst akzeptable Shots für euch herausgepickt. Die ersten drei stammen übrigens von lovely Caro von La dolce fashion vita, die immer eine witzige und willkommene Abwechslung zum sonstigen Brei darstellt. Trotz der bitteren Kälte gaben sich auch die mit I-Phones bepackten Mädels von fashionfreax alle Mühe, jedes Outfit abzulichten, jedoch eben in I-Phone-Qualität. Dennoch will ich euch mein drittes Outfit (Bild 4) nicht vorenthalten. Augenscheinlich hatte am Freitag, dem letzten Tag des Permanent-Socializens, keiner mehr Bock, seine Blogger-Lumix auszupacken, oder mein Outfit war einfach beschissen. Wie dem auch sei: Kein Outfitbildchen zu Tag 4.

FINALLY: COLLECTIVE SHOWCASE 301112

Gestern Abend fand im "Naherholung Sternchen", Berlin, der lang ersehnte Showcase zwischen vier Labels (In Odd We Trust, Tata Christiane, An!mal, Moga e Mago), einem Shop (Superficial), einem Magazin (Kaltblut Magazine), drei Bands (Aniaetleprogrammeur, Lloy, Ornis), drei DJs (Steve Morell, Lazare, Emma Tome), Videokünstlern (Valquire Veljkovic, Emilio El-Lauren, Aniaetleprogrammeur) und einem Musiklabel (Pale Music) statt.

Diesmal war es für mich keine Standard-Abendveranstaltung, da ich selbst an der Gestaltung mitgewirkt habe und demnach stärker involviert war als sonst.
Wie bereits während der Planung vermutet, war es die perfekte kulturelle Ballung aus Photographie, Mode, Videokunst und Musik. Eine Vereinigung, die wir von BoePalm lange bzgl. einer Veranstaltung ersehnt hatten. Anstatt zu differenzieren und alle Kunstgattungen in einzelne Schubladen zu verbannen, wurden diese  beim Collective Showcase integriert. Und das mit Erfolg: Gleich nach dem Startschuss um 20.00 Uhr füllten sich dich Räumlichkeiten, die Gin Tonic Gläser und gegen 2.00 Uhr, als ich mich abgearbeitet nach Hause schleppte, war immer noch kein Ende in Sicht. 

Hier ein kleiner Einblick in das Geschehen, solltet ihr gestern verhindert gewesen sein. 

And I guess all of us can proudly say: Everyone who missed the event really missed A LOT!

In Odd We Trust

ANIAETLEPROGRAMMEUR

Unclassifiable and purely authentic with a little touch of tasty kitch, Aniaetleprogrammeur gather several influences under one style, their own. 
Defined as dirty electro rock, electro punk, industrial electro or the kings of modern no-wave, indeed Aniaetleprogrammeur leave traces behind their passages. Even if electro is the most repeated word, the band doesn’t fit into clubs but to concert hall

s, where the quality of the speakers allow them to create the most incisive wall of sound.

Berlin-based but originally formed in Paris in 2005, the band is composed of Hanrigabriel (direction/guitars/vox/synths) Tata Christiane (synths/machines), and Valquire Veljkovic (lights/synths/bass). The trio is a multidisciplinary art collective whose activities extend to fashion design (with the brand Tata Christiane), video, photography and graphic design.

Tata Christiane will showcase at the COLLECTIVE SHOWCASE on the 30th November a preview of her new collection of unique pieces, “99 Robes de bal" that will be exhibited in Tokyo at Wut Berlin in December and January 2012-2013. This collection is a free interpretation and a variation of the evening dress.

An dieser Stelle möchte ich einen Vorab-Einblick in die Geschehnisse in und um den Collective Showcase, der am 30.11. stattfinden wird (im Naherholung Sternchen, Berolinastr. 7, Berlin), bieten. Seid gespannt auf ein Mode-Design-, Video-Show-, Licht-Installations-, Live-Konzert- und DJ-Konglomerat der Superlative!

At this point I want to provide a little preview of what awaits you at the Collective Showcase 2012, which is going to take place at November 30th at Naherholung Sternchen, Berolinastr. 7, Berlin. THE NEW BLACK

Gestern Abend fand ein heiß ersehntes Event endlich statt: Das XXX-Clusive with TATA CHRISTIANE im XXX Berlin. (Skalitzer Str. 33, Gebäude B im Hinterhof, 3. Stock).
In dem herrlich anzusehenden Loft des XXX in Kreuzberg, der anfangs etwas schwer zu finden ist, fand die Präsentation der neuesten, eigens von Julie Bourgeois für XXX-Berlin entworfenen Kollektion statt. Konträr zu ihren bisherigen Kollektionen hielt sich Julie (Chefdesignerin von Tata Christiane) an ein durchgehendes Schwarz in ihrer von der Romantik beeinflussten Kollektion. Wir wissen, dass sie gerne und gekonnt mit Farben arbeitet, und dennoch sieht man sofort, welche der vielen Stücke des XXX Shops ihrer Kreativität entspringen: Leder wird mit Federn, Strick mit Fellapplikationen, Jersey mit Polyester und Seide gepatcht. Dieses Texture Blocking steht unweigerlich für Tata Christiane. Nur diesmal überwiegend in Schwarz, damit die Kollektion zu den anderen Labels des XXX-Shops passen würde, die sich durch Avant-Garde-Schnitte und ein kräftiges durchgehendes Schwarz kennzeichnen. Vorgeführt wurde die Kollektion von einem wunderschönen Model ohne Makel zu Musik und live Soundscape Poetry, was der Performance einen perfekt der Mode selbst entsprechenden mystisch-düsteren, undergroundigen Touch verlieh. Julie meinte zu ihrer "schwarzen Kollektion": "I wanted investigated the possibilities of the black by using numerous fabrics, textures, black's qualities. A work on the not minimalist, outraged, sensual and subjective black." 
Und wir lieben das 'neue Schwarz(e)'.

FAVORITE SHOP: WUT BERLIN

Binnen eines nächtlichen Shopping-Anfalls an meinem ersten ereignislosen Abend in Berlin (unfasslich, oder?) stolperte ich über diesen Online-Shop, der nun ganz oben auf meiner imaginären Liste steht:  Wut berlin.
Das Konzept der zwei existenten Läden (leider beide in Tokyo, allerdings gibt es ja auch den  ONLINE SHOP ) ist simpel und so gut: Die schöne Wirrnis des kulturellen Berlins soll widergespiegelt werden. Vertreten sind dementsprechend viele Berliner Designer (Alltime-Favorite  Tata Christiane,  Vladimir Karaleev,  ANNTIAN...) und etliche internationale. Sollte ich in naher oder ferner Zukunft nach Tokyo gelangen, würde ich die weiß gekachelten Räumlichkeiten von Wut berlin als ersten Ausflugsort aufsuchen, da die 468 Online-Shop-Artikel für mich die übermäßigste Augenweide darstellen.

THE FABULOUS WORLD OF TATA CHRISTIANE

- FASHION IS FICTION

You entry an old building while it’s cold outside. And you receive the very best hospitality by Julie Bourgeois, the designer of „Tata Christiane“, which figuratively means „Aunt Christiane“, who’s a French symbol of colors, eccentricity with a mixture of morbid grunge and visionary vividness. Smoking cigarettes with a room filling person talking between German, French and English created a unique atmosphere.

And here’s what we asked Ms. Bourgeois exclusively:

Dear Julie Bourgeois, it’s wonderful to meet you. Thank you for the great chance to have this interview with you.

It’s nice to meet you, too!

The first thing we want to ask you, is how you’d describe your clientele.

It’s quite large, very different. Androgynous. Can be classic and casual or extreme and very colorful.  I didn t find any rules in i yet.

- You use a huge spectrum of different colors, cuts and prints, oftentimes united in one piece. What is the message behind it?

Fashion is fiction.  The material, the texture and the color effect are really important to my eyes. I didn’t study fashion, but literature philosophy, my work is influenced by this. I took the aspect of beauty, fiction and poetry from my studies and didn’t get influenced by the rational aspect of it. Extravagance and beauty. There’s a special private story behind every single piece I make. It’s more art culture than fashion culture to me. Fashion photographs should be in my opinion complex, like literature or arts. And there doesn’t have to be a certain meaning or context. It‘s quite free.

- When can we face the announced Online Shop for Tata Christiane?

It will open the latest in July, hopefully sooner.

- Why did you choose Berlin as your adopted home?

Before I came to Berlin I’ve lived in Paris. I came here because of the music with my band, Aniaetleprogrammeur. Step by step I moved to Berlin, gave up my appartement in Paris. Living in Berlin is more comfortable than in Paris because in Germany’s capital city you have more place in your mind and I' m working and living better here. 

- Some days ago we read that you and Nicole Roscher from „Von Bardonitz“ are the founding designers of „The Offer“, a multinational label collective. How much did and does this influence your work for Tata Christiane?

I started doing collections and exhibitions in Berlin after working for different theaters and artists in Paris. Nicole Roscher with Magdalena Schaffrin started  to organize meetings with other   designers  to exchange tips and do something together. I joined the meetings when I arrived in Berlin. Step by step, some designers left, others came. We started „The Offer“ as newcomers and have very different styles. We organized then events and performances to promote the designers of The Offer and share together our experiences. Andrea Cseh is as well founder of The Offer.

- You’re not only a fashion designer, but also a costume designer for movies and theater. In which movies and plays have your costumes been seen?

I made some stylings and costumes for movies. Furthermore I provide  theater groups, circus artists, and also many musicians with my clothes.

- And our last question to you but probably the most interesting one: When we searched for shops offering Tata Christiane in Germany after we had seen your collection at „THE EDGED Showroom“ during the last Fashion Week, we couldn‘t find any.

So are you planning an expansion of Tata Christiane?

I‘m represented in Japan  by the Shop Wut Berlin, and in a shop in South Japan and Hong Kong (Pop up store). I sell as well in Belgium and in Paris. I don t have yet my own shop. On the website you can find the shop list.
